I Miss You/Taharet
This installation explores the concept of taharet (lustration) as both a personal and political metaphor. Set in a toilet, the work invites viewers to sit on the closed lid, feeling vibrations while listening to a poem emanating from a speaker placed inside the bowl. The poem reflects on the transformative power of water—its ability to cleanse, shape landscapes, and create new terrains. By juxtaposing the act of cleansing with a reflection on Turkey’s political challenges, the work uses the personal act of lustration as a metaphor for hope, renewal, and transformation on a larger scale.
